Cookie Policy
Short version: what is strictly necessary for login and security is always on. Statistics and ad measurement only load if you accept them separately.

1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser to remember certain information between pages or sessions. Some cookies are essential for the platform to work; others are optional.
2. Which cookies we use
Kollaborate uses strictly necessary cookies, functional preference cookies and, only with your consent, statistics cookies from Microsoft Clarity and marketing cookies from the Meta pixel. Statistics and marketing are two separate choices.
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the platform's core functions (login, session security). They cannot be disabled without breaking the app. Under article 10/2 of the Belgian Act of 30 July 2018 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, no consent is required for strictly necessary cookies.

2.2 Functional preference cookies
These cookies store your personal preferences. They are not required for the core functions but improve your experience. They are only placed once you make an active choice (for example setting the display mode).

3. Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics for anonymised page-visit statistics. It works without cookies, stores no personal data and does not identify you individually, so no consent is required for it.
We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors scroll and click through our public pages. Clarity also makes recordings of those movements. We load it only after your explicit consent: if you do not give it, the script is not loaded and nothing is placed on your device. You can review or withdraw your choice at any time via Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw, we delete the cookies Clarity had already placed.
Correction, 15 September 2026. An earlier version of this page stated that Clarity ran with cookies disabled and that no consent was therefore required. That was not accurate: the script was loaded unconditionally. Since 15 September 2026 it loads only after consent.
4. Marketing: measuring our ads with Meta
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram. To know which ad leads to a visit or a sign-up, we use the Meta pixel from Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. It loads only after your explicit consent to marketing, separately from your choice about statistics. Without that consent the script is not loaded and no request is sent to Meta.
If you consent, Meta receives which pages you view on kollaborate.app, together with technical data such as your IP address and browser. If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta can link this to your account. We use this measurement to assess our ads and to build advertising audiences. We do not sell your data.

For the collection and transmission of this data through the pixel, Kollaborate and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. are joint controllers (Article 26 GDPR, as the Court of Justice ruled in Fashion ID, C-40/17). We have agreed to Meta's Controller Addendum for this. What Meta does with the data afterwards is Meta's sole responsibility and falls under Meta's privacy policy. You can exercise your rights with us and with Meta. Meta may transfer data to Meta Platforms Inc. in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
You can review or withdraw your choice at any time via Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page. If you switch marketing off, the pixel stops immediately (the page reloads) and we delete _fbp and _fbc.
We use no other advertising trackers: no Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager or remarketing from other ad networks.
5. Third-party cookies
Stripe may place functional cookies at checkout as part of its own payment and fraud-prevention services. This falls under Stripe's privacy policy (stripe.com/be/privacy). Stripe's cookies are strictly necessary for processing payments.
6. How do you manage cookies?
Strictly necessary cookies (login session) cannot be disabled through our interface because that would make the app unusable.
Preference cookies (theme) can be removed at any time through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data → See all cookies and site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → See all cookies and site data
