Influencer platform for Belgian businesses.
Most comparisons of influencer platforms cover international software priced from a few hundred dollars a month, with databases full of American accounts. For a business that wants customers from its own city, that is the wrong tool. This guide puts the three routes side by side and says honestly when each one is right.

Het korte antwoord.
An influencer platform is software where you post an offer yourself and creators respond, for a fixed monthly fee. An influencer marketing agency does the work for you and charges a project price or a monthly retainer, which for a local business is usually a multiple of that. Searching yourself through direct messages costs nothing but time, and gives no certainty about real followers or about delivery. For a shop, restaurant or salon in Belgium a platform is usually the cheapest route to a first run of collaborations: at Kollaborate 39 euros a month, with the first month free.
Three ways to reach creators.
The first is searching yourself. You look through hashtags and locations, send messages and negotiate person by person. It costs nothing but time, and that time is considerable: working out whether someone’s followers are real, going back and forth about the fee, and following up on who actually posted.
The second is an agency. It takes over selection, briefing, negotiation and follow-up. For a brand with a campaign budget that is money well spent. For local content, roughly a thousand euros a month is often used as a market benchmark, and that is before the creators’ own fees.
The third is a platform. You post an offer yourself with your budget and your conditions, creators who fit respond, and you choose. You pay a subscription for the software and the checks that come with it, not for someone else’s hours.
Platform, agency or searching yourself.
The same question, three routes, three very different cost pictures.

| Searching yourself | Agency | Platform | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fixed cost | None | Project price or monthly retainer | Subscription from 39 euros a month |
| Your time | High: searching, messaging, following up | Low: the agency does it | Limited: post an offer and choose |
| Certainty about real followers | None, you judge for yourself | Depends on the agency | Figures from the official Instagram connection |
| Certainty about delivery | None | Handled contractually | The fee is released after delivery |
| Local creators | Yes, if you find them | Often bigger names | Filter by city, niche and reach |
| When it fits | You have time and know your neighbourhood | Larger budget, multi-channel campaign | Recurring local collaborations, small budget |
The benchmark of roughly a thousand euros a month for local content support is a general market figure and not a Kollaborate rate.
Why small and local works better for a neighbourhood business.
An account with a hundred thousand followers spread across Flanders, the Netherlands and beyond does little for a hair salon in Berchem. What does work is someone with fifteen hundred followers who mostly live in the same city and who trust her when she says where she gets a good cut.
On top of that, smaller accounts are affordable in a form that suits a local business. A restaurant rarely has a cash budget ready, but it does have a table for two. On Kollaborate that exchange is a full deal rather than an afterthought: you can pay in cash, in a product or service, in a combination of both, with a performance bonus, or through an ambassadorship across several months.
And it is repeatable. Four creators per quarter who each reach a part of your city usually does more for a local business than one big name who visits once.
How a collaboration runs.
- 01
Your business is checked through the company register.
On sign-up we verify your company number. Creators can see they are dealing with a real business, and you are not sitting among accounts that are not.
- 02
You post an offer.
A form walks you through goal, sector, budget and payment form. You set out what you expect: how many posts or stories, by when, and what you may do with the content.
- 03
Creators nearby respond.
Those who fit your niche and region see your offer and reply with a proposal. You can filter by location, niche, reach and engagement, and you only see follower counts when the profile is genuinely connected to Instagram.
- 04
You choose and lock in the agreement.
Chat in the app, counter-proposals included. Once you agree, the fee is fixed and both sides know where they stand.
- 05
The fee is released after delivery.
The amount is held until the content is delivered. Afterwards you both leave a review, and that reputation helps with your next offer.
What it costs.
Two plans for businesses, both per month and excluding VAT. Your subscription is separate from what you pay the creator.

The first month is free and needs no card. A minimum fee of 5 euros applies per cash deal. Paying yearly gives two months free. The first 100 businesses get two months of Pro with the code FIRST100.
What to look for when choosing a platform.
Five questions that separate a database from a platform where you actually get collaborations.
Do the follower counts come from the platform itself?
If a creator can type in their own reach, you know nothing. Ask whether the figures come from an official connection with Instagram or TikTok.
Are there creators from your city?
An international database with millions of profiles is worthless if nobody is in Mechelen or Kortrijk. Ask about the region, not the total.
Can you pay in kind?
Many platforms only support cash. For hospitality, beauty and retail a product or a treatment is often exactly the form that works.
What happens if a creator does not deliver?
Ask explicitly when the money is released. Paying in full upfront with nothing in between is the risk you want to avoid.
In which language do you get support, and from whom?
A help desk in another time zone and an invoice without a Belgian VAT number do not make your bookkeeping easier.
What a collaboration costs in total.
Count three items. First your subscription: 39 or 89 euros a month excluding VAT, with the first month free. Then the fee to the creator, which you set yourself. And on a cash deal the platform fee of 15 per cent on Essential or 10 per cent on Pro, with a minimum of 5 euros.
For a local collaboration in hospitality with a smaller account we work with roughly 80 to 150 euros per creator, in cash or in value. If you pay in a product or service, your cost is what it costs you and not what is on the menu.
Concretely: three creators a month at 100 euros each, on Essential, comes to around 39 euros subscription plus 300 euros in fees plus 45 euros platform fee. With payment in kind, that last part largely disappears.
